** Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Quality, Veterinary Services, Central Laboratory for Veterinary Research, B.P. 67, 94703 Maisons-Alfort Cedex, France. Summary : Leptospirosis occurs, at least in its inapparent form, in the majority of European countries. Clinical incidence is generally low. However, the disease has created problems in pigs in Central Europe and in cattle infected by serovar hardjo in some areas of the United Kingdom and Italy.

The impact of Livestock Manure Control Policy on human leptospirosis in Republic of Korea using interrupted time series analysis.
Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease that the pathogen can be transmitted to humans through the excretions of infected animals. In the Republic of Korea, the Livestock Manure Control Act was enforced in September 2007 to improve underground water hygiene. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of Livestock Manure Control Policy on the incidence and the trend of human leptospirosi...

Leptospirosis is caused by pathogenic bacteria of the genus Leptospira spp. This neglected re-emergent disease has global distribution and relevance in veterinary production. Here, we report the whole-genome sequence and annotation of Leptospira interrogans serovar Hardjo subtype Hardjoprajitno strain Norma, isolated from cattle in a livestock leptospirosis outbreak in Brazil.
متن کاملInvestigation on predominant Leptospira serovars and its distribution in humans and livestock in Thailand, 2010-2015
BACKGROUND Leptospirosis is a worldwide zoonotic bacterial disease caused by infection with leptospires. Leptospirosis in humans and livestock is an endemic and epidemic disease in Thailand. Livestock may act as reservoirs for leptospires and source for human infection. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Data on leptospirosis infection in humans and livestock (Buffaloes, Cattle, and Pigs) species...
متن کاملA nationwide survey of pathogenic leptospires in urine of cattle and buffaloes by Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) method in Thailand, 2011–2013
Leptospirosis is a worldwide distributed zoonosis which has long been endemic in Thailand. Cattle and buffaloes are important livestock species that live in close contact with humans, especially in rural areas. These animals may, therefore, act as long-term carriers of leptospirosis for humans and other livestock species. The present study employed loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) ...
متن کاملMolecular epidemiology of pathogenic Leptospira spp. among large ruminants in the Philippines
The extent of Leptospira infection in large ruminants resulting to economic problems in livestock industry in a leptospirosis-endemic country like the Philippines has not been extensively explored. Therefore, we determined the prevalence and carrier status of leptospirosis in large ruminants using molecular techniques and assessed the risk factors of acquiring leptospirosis in these animals. Wa...
